Parkcrest is where neighbors become friends, kids grow in confidence, and lifelong memories are made.

Friends of Parkcrest Overview

Parkcrest Swim and Tennis Club has been a treasured gathering place since it opened in 1968. Parkcrest has introduced thousands of children to aquatic safety and given many their first taste of competitive swimming and diving. It provides kids and adults a place to stay active, bond with new friends, and build lifelong memories.

As Parkcrest prepares for its 58th summer, the need for substantial renovations is apparent. The current size of the pool prohibits the growth of the swimming lesson program, which is needed to support a healthy membership. The existing facility is not equipped with accessibility features to best serve families, older members, and persons with disabilities. Aging pool mechanicals present operational challenges each season.

Friends of Parkcrest, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was founded with the goal of improving the facilities and access to Parkcrest - now, and for decades to come.

2025 Friends of Parkcrest Goals

  • Facility Renovation (to begin fall 2025):

    • New, expanded lap pool to accommodate more lessons, lap swimmers, and recreation space. All-new mechanicals will ensure cost- and resource-efficient operation of the pool for the foreseeable future.

    • New poolhouse with accessible concessions, family-friendly and gender-neutral changing areas, and much needed storage. See facility plans.

Goals for 2026 and Beyond

  • Use raised funds to be able to grant additional requests for pool time to local schools and community groups, especially during pre-season and off-peak times.

  • Provide partial scholarships for dues or activities to community members facing periods of hardship.

  • Continue to support the upkeep and maintenance of Parkcrest facilities to support the growth of aquatic training and instruction.
